CATALYST Whole Life Coaching
About the Coach, David White
I wish to help catalyze the wholeness in all of us. I believe I can only do that by being personally committed to nurturing my own wholeness. Wholeness is about the health of the mind, body and spirit. It is about honoring our connection and place in the world and all its creatures. While the craziness of the world may sometimes feel overwhelming, the good news is that we each have a choice in how to create change in our lives and how to live our lives with purpose and intention. What Do I Have to Offer? As a professional Co-Active Coach, I have completed the core curriculum of the Coaches Training Institute and am committed to additional training in their certification program and relationship coaching. In addition, I have completed several courses/workshops in effective communication skills, anger release techniques, team building, and have learned much from personal and relationship therapy. I am committed to offering you honesty, trust, safety, intelligence, compassion, intuition, and the ability to listen. I can also offer you a set of skills that I have developed through a combination of professional training and living life. We all gain from our life experiences and relationships and I have certainly learned my share of great lessons. I am currently married to a wonderful woman, Stephanie, who is a colon hydrotherapist (see Maitri). I am a father to 2 sons, one of which was born with a cognitive disability. I also am a step father to my wife's son and daughter. Children are incredible teachers! I have enjoyed many successes in my life but not without experiencing failures as well. Failing is not an endpoint; rather it is one of the many ways we learn along our path. I have worked as an ecologist for 20 years, understanding the connection between the living world and its environment. In this work, I have been especially interested in learning about how humans have impacted this great life support system we call earth; at the heart of this is that fascinating interaction between economy, ecology and humans. I believe strongly that there is an intimate connection between our own healing and wholeness and the healing and wholeness of the earth. I love adventures and wild places, friends and relationships, fun and laughter, dancing and playing music. Where would we be without fun and joy? I am committed to good physical health and firmly believe that movement of our bodies not only facilitates good health but is a major factor in our own growth. Background Born in 1957, I grew up in Upstate SC. I received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Wofford College, and a master’s degree in plant ecology from the University of Georgia. I worked as an Ecologist for the USDA Forest Service until 2004. In 2005, I completed the Core Curriculum of the Coaches Training Institute. My wife, Stephanie, and I, live with our children in Asheville, NC.
